Saiful Bouquet provided structural engineering services for the new $47M, 3-story Santa Ana College STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) building.  The new 65,428 gsf building consists of Teaching Labs, Faculty Offices, and Research Labs for the biology, chemistry, geology, and physics academic programs.  The building is a modern instructional facility, providing state of the art science labs and classrooms supporting innovations in STEM fields.

The biology labs on the second-floor slab required a special structure dynamic pertaining to foot-fall-induced vibrations. The maximum vibration velocity of 2,000 micro-inch per second (mips) measured on top of the structural floor lab (for moderate-pace walking) was set as the limit for those spaces.
