Saiful Bouquet is currently providing structural engineering services for a new health and wellness complex to be located on the Oceanside Campus of Mira Costa Community College. The new facility will be comprised of three stand-alone structures; Gymnasium, KHAN and Allied Health totaling approximately 72,250 square feet. The gymnasium will consist of a high-volume basketball and volleyball gymnasium with lower level office spaces that wrap around the exterior elevations. The adjacent KHAN building will serve to provide office and exercise studio spaces while the Allied Health building will provide office and classroom spaces for the nursing program.

The volume of the gymnasium structure will meet CIF regulations for volleyball and basketball that will be achieved with built-up, steel long-span trusses. Special concentric, steel braced frames (SCBF) provide lateral bracing for the contiguous structure. A steel moment frame is being provided at the entry to the gymnasium to allow for unobstructed glazing. Similarly, the single-story, KHAN and Allied Health structures will be of steel framing construction utilizing SCBF for lateral bracing.
