In collaboration with Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College, the South Orange County Community College District is spearheading the development of the Advanced Technology and Education Park (ATEP) at the former Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, CA. Saiful Bouquet is providing full engineering services for the project involving the constructing of two key buildings – the Culinary Arts Building and the Auto Tech Building B – on a 3.08-acre section planned for up to 50,000 sf of educational and office space. The Culinary Arts Building encompasses diverse spaces like labs, a teaching restaurant, culinary hubs, and outdoor culinary areas, while the Auto Tech Building integrates labs, storage areas, and practical learning spaces for automotive technology.

Both structures, standing at a maximum height of 31 feet 9 inches, feature contemporary design elements with modern exteriors, including aluminum and glass windows, concrete panels, stone facing, and awnings. The project also prioritizes eco-friendly practices, aiming for LEED Gold Equivalency, and incorporating solar panels to meet a substantial portion of the buildings’ electricity needs.
