Saiful Bouquet provided full structural design services for the new $50 Million Cahuenga Elementary School #1. The school is comprised of two primary buildings, a 3-story, 44,000 square-foot classroom/administration building and a 1-story, 22,000 square-foot multipurpose building atop 1 level, 22,000 square-foot, of subterranean parking.
The campus design utilizes Type-V Light Frame construction with concrete block and plywood shear walls as the lateral system. This building is the only 3-story wood framed school built for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
