Exciting news! Saiful Bouquet has been honored with a SEAOSC SEE 2025 Award of Merit in the Retrofit/Alteration category for our structural engineering on The Press Building. This significant project involved the adaptive reuse and seismic strengthening of a 450,000 sq. ft. former LA Times printing facility, transforming it into a vibrant creative office campus while preserving its industrial heritage.
Our team’s approach enabled ‘sky-cuts’ through selective subtraction, integrated new structural elements and building systems while respecting the building’s industrial character, adding mezzanines, pavilions, and skylights. This award underscores our commitment to sustainable design and the revitalization of existing structures.
This project was a result of strategic collaboration between EYRC Architects, Saiful Bouquet, Steelwave and Del Amo Construction.
